VALTAIRA

Technology, data and AI consultancy. Strategy, decision, build.

Deciding where technology, data and AI are worth the investment.

VALTAIRA works on the decisions that determine whether a significant technology, data or AI commitment should happen, and on what has to be true for it to hold.

It then delivers the change that was chosen, directly or through specialist suppliers and partners assembled for the engagement, including the process, data and system work that has nothing to do with AI.

A business outcome, the actual workflow and the available evidence feed a comparison of realistic options before the next investment decision.

The cheapest answer is considered first.

Ten interventions are compared against the same business question in a fixed order, starting with removing the step entirely and ending with bounded automatic execution.

Six of the ten options contain no AI.

Every one of the ten carries a verdict and a written reason, including the routes not selected. That comparison goes to the client.

A technology decision is rarely only about technology.

Workflow, data, people, systems and ownership are practical dependencies that can shape a problem or use case before a solution is fixed.

A promising use case can depend on data that is difficult to access, a workflow full of exceptions, unclear ownership or systems that cannot support the proposed change.

The reverse is also true. A problem that initially looks like an AI opportunity may be addressed more effectively through an existing system, a process change or conventional automation.

VALTAIRA looks at those dependencies before the solution is fixed.

Every stage closes with a document.

Seven templates exist today, and the deliverables page shows them as they are, unfilled. That includes the Decision Record, which closes the first phase and carries the comparison of all ten options.

Where AI fits

Used against the right workflow, Generative AI and agentic AI can cut handling time, reduce avoidable errors and release capacity. Generative AI works with language and knowledge; agentic AI can also take defined actions across systems. What it may access or change, where approval is required and which actions remain prohibited need to be designed explicitly. They are part of a broader AI landscape, and different problems call for different approaches.

The test is whether AI improves a measurable business outcome enough to justify the change.

Illustrative examples:

IT support

Resolve routine requests, diagnose common issues and route exceptions with the right context.

Finance

Read and match invoices, flag exceptions and prepare approvals, reducing manual handling and errors.

Procurement

Route purchase requests and supplier onboarding through the right controls, with better visibility of spend and status.

Knowledge and service

Answer staff or customer questions from approved sources, with sources shown and an audit trail.

Who this is for.

The executive accountable for an operational result who has been offered an AI or technology solution before the underlying problem was agreed, or who has paid for advice that stopped at the recommendation.

It is not staff augmentation, software resale, or a general enterprise wide strategy exercise.

Eight controlled questions about one business problem, answered anonymously.

It returns a written Opportunity Brief: where value may come from, what is getting in the way, what evidence exists and which interventions merit attention. It does not produce a score, a grade or a maturity level.

Questions people ask.

You have no client case studies. Why take the risk?

VALTAIRA is a new firm and does not present client work it has not done. What it offers instead is the method in the open. The ten options are published, the seven documents are published as templates, and the comparison that produces the recommendation is released to the client, who can use it to brief another supplier. The founder's operating record appears on the About page as founder experience, not as company delivery evidence.

Do you only do AI?

No. Six of the ten intervention options contain no AI, and the comparison starts with the cheapest and least complex route. A conclusion that the priority is process, decision rights, data or an existing system is a legitimate result, and VALTAIRA can do that work too.

Do you deliver, or only recommend?

Both. The work runs from strategy and decision through the process, data and system foundations, and VALTAIRA can then deliver the selected change, directly or through specialist suppliers and partners assembled for the engagement. Scope, accountability and acceptance are defined for each engagement.

What do I get in writing?

A Decision Record on one named problem: twelve fields, the evidence position, and a verdict with a written reason against each of the ten options. The other six documents are on the deliverables page.

How does an engagement start?

With one named business problem. Value Explorer is the self serve way to frame one before any conversation. Otherwise, email.
